When posts age

What happens when posts that are stickied or linked to in a sticky age? Do stickies get moved into the archive? If a post is linked within a sticky and that post gets archived does the sticky get automatically updated with the new URL?

btspider's sticky in micro has been around longer than some of my posts that have been moved to the archives, so I think they just keep hanging around.
