I used to play in the same games as Tommy a few years back. He played in a very different way than I did. He seemed to focus much more on his opponent than anyone I had ever met, to the point where it almost didn't matter what he held in his hand (I'm exaggerating of course, especially for limit). It was clear he was a big winner in the games, although he didn't really fit the mold of typical poker pro. He had skills very different from most poker pros (I think he played the guitar, wrote songs, and put out a musical CD that was not bad!) and his writing is incredibly fun to read. That time period was the early to mid stages of my learning curve and it was very educational for me to experience playing in games against him because it showed me I could improve in other areas of my game (mostly interpersonal and playing the players). Stuff like that are very difficult to get down on paper as there are so many nuances that are difficult to explain unless you are in the heat of the battle.

Like many who have read his posts here and articles on Cardplayer magazine, I'd look forward to reading any book he writes - be it on poker or any other topic.

"Are there any plans for Tommy Angelo to publish a full-length book?"

Yes. But not until I feel like taking a year off from playing. I've started and stopped work on several books over the years. What I learned from the starting is that there are books in me. What I learned from the stopping is that it'll take a year of focused effort to get one done.

Thanks for asking!

Tommy
