Line that left me unfulfilled.

5/10. 400 max. live game in la.

rock ($1200) in CO open raises to 40 - 2nd time hes raised in 2 hours.

I ($1600) call in SB w K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Flop K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check, he bets $75, I call.

Turn 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

I bet $150, he calls.

River 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I bet $350. He calls.

Better way to get more money in anyone? C/R turn was a thought - but I could feel a check behind coming - anyone check turn, c/r river? I thought about check raising the flop, hoping he reads flush draw, but I really didn't want to lose him.

He says he had AA - which is what I thought during the hand, but I didn't see his cards - so please respond as if we know he has aa all along. And don't tell me to fold PF.

Meh, he is a rock, how much more could you get? You could go for the turn check/call, river huge bet when the club doesn't hit. But too much involved there, probability of club not hitting and killing your action, rock actually thinking about the game and not being afraid to snap off a huge bluff, plus it's also dependent on your image which probably isn't that wild, etc...so I think this line is fine.

You could also lead all 3 streets ( you probably get an extra $100 or so). I don't think a rock bets this river if you check to him.

I'd also play it like he had AA.

Why not check-raise the flop? It's a draw heavy board, and I'm sure he thinks there are plenty of hands that can check-raise that flop and be trailing AA.

After that I'd check the turn like a scared trick and let him protect his hand. Call this bet, hope for a blank river, and make a pot sized bet. If river is scary for him, then sell your hand for as much as you think you can get.

As poor as some of the advice is on this forum from time to time, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that NOBODY would tell you to fold preflop...

Check-raise the flop. He's not folding AA/AK when you do.

Yeah, he might. Except for the fact that: he won't.

i know - it was a joke (sort of).

rocks scare easy - i was afraid to c/r flop.

the thing is - wtf does my line look like to him - if im going to just call the flop, i think it looks like clubs, so i maybe should've c/r turn instead as he has to bet to protect aa?

i don't know.

If that's the case the way to get this guy's money is clearly not to flop a set when he has aces, but rather to raise anytime he doesn't have the nuts.

Don't rocks wait for a hand to bet? CR the flop. You should get his stack unless he's a paranoid rock that sees monsters.
