what the better book to get TOP or Super System 2 when it comes out?
 

what the better book to get TOP or Super System 2 when it comes out?

alot of people recommend TOP, but when i was ordering it, i ran across Super System 2

there totally different books or both are bible for poker?

Theory of Poker by far. I have Supersystem II and have read about half of it. There is a lot of good stuff in there, but Theory of Poker covers the important concepts better. SSII would be better to read after you've read TOP.

Do you play limit games or tournaments?
TOP for the former, SSII for the latter.

then read in order WLLH, TOP, SSH right?

I'd read WLLH, SSH, then TOP. TOP has a lot of stuff that pertains more to High Limit games than low limit games.

I disagree. TOP has a lot of incredibly useful concepts which apply to EVERY form of poker at all limits in some way. So by reading TOP before SSH, you can get an extremely good understanding of these concepts, THEN you can read SSH and understand how, specifically, these concepts apply to games which are generally looser.

WLLH, TOP, and SHH is my vote for those reasons.

Definitely read the section on Bluffing Theory and use it in your low limit games as often as possible.

Oddly enough, it was the first poker book I read. Probably not a good idea, but I roughed it out. You just need to remember that the majority of the book has nothing to do with specific hand strategy. It's all about abstract concepts. Don't expect it to tell you what to do in early position, etc.
