freemoney it probably just means you arent ready to play the step 5's yet. Wait until you have at least double or triple your bankroll or something like that. The games aren't going anywhere and then itll be much easier to stomach a huge loss.

What do you think is a good number for your bankroll to start really playing Step 5s, assuming you think you would be a winning player.

I think it is healthy to have respect for money. It could be negative if you get scared of moving up when your game is ready. But seeing as you have made your way up the SnG ladder and play at a reasonably high limit I don't think it is a problem for you. Eventually you will feel comfortable enough to play the steps.

Depends who you are....anywhere from 100k-300k. Depends on how much $$ you like risking at once. Of course a higher number for the higher step 5's.

IMO 100k is on the short side for a responsible/professional gambler. Yeah ok, losing 10% of your bankroll is no huge deal when you have 3k and are grinding away at the 33s, but when you lose 10% of it and you have 100k, it really stings. Add this to the fact that the 1k games are much tougher and I feel that it's just risky if you aren't the kind of person who can take losing a large sum of money well.

Once you have like 250-300k, then losing 10-20k should sting quite a bit less.
