Do people misspell ridiculous on purpose?

Is this something like "pwned" or "teh" or "moran"? Am I simply too old and lame to get this?

"Rediculous" irritates me. I'm fairly ambivalent about the others.

I doubt it's on purpose. Equally annoying is "definately."

People misspell it because a lot of people will say
"Re-----diculous" with the "re" drawn out for awhile. Just seems natural then that it would be spelled with an "e." I too am annoyed, though.
