Underbet?

I'm a Fulltilt 11 player and am posting here to learn. I've found a strange phenomenon. I can get away with lower bets than I considered standard for continuation and/or probe bets. I used to think that I had to bet at least the size of the pot on a continuation - well it seems I don't. Anyone want to help me with bet size guidelines?

One word (or would it be five?) - HOH1

Harrington on Hold'em Volume one provides a great base for both starting hand requirements and flop betting. Worth the read.

And yes, you seldom need/want to bet full pot on a missed or hit flop c-b.

Cool. Well, it depends then Position, number of callers, stack sizes, flop texture, etc.

The more callers, the less often we'd want to c-b a whiff of course (bigger pot, more likely c-b callers). HU, all things being equal, I'm c-b'ing most all whiffs (somewhat opponent dependant...1/3 - 3/4). With a "hit"...depends on the texture of the flop. TP-Ace, non-drawing...no reason to chase him/her away. A couple callers on a drawing flop, near pot/pot+, etc.

Certainly an EXTREMELY critical aspect of your game - worth posting all kinds of specific hand examples. Ones that would be benificial to many. Post away!
