10/20 6max: a poorly played hand - QJo

Villain is a TAG. We've played together for about a half an hour, not much has stood out.

the turn raise is not standard(edit, its bad he probably isn't c/c b/f too often.) but i dont think its terrible if this guy knows how to fold.
Im checking the river tho. You need to be putting him on A6 or A8 here to be betting the river. He calls to often with any pair and if he called the turn with a better no pair hand he might call a river bet.

dont 3bet these hands against a tag if you are going to sprew all over him.

really i dont see the reason for the turn raise i dont think hes folding after he donks. after youve gotten yourself into this predicament tho i do like the river follow through.

fold preflop.

you dont have to win every hand.

Fold the turn, he's rarely folding after that donk. Check the river.

My thoughts exactly. This, by default, is a fold for me. He was raising very light on CO/Button though.

The table broke after this hand and we talked about it for a bit. He said he's calling a river bet after he calls the turn raise 100% of the time. I thought it was the opposite, that he'd expect me to check behind worse hands and bet better ones. Ah well.

He also said "You've been raising me with air all day" which I thought was interesting. I'm making a conscious effort to engender this type of image, but I didn't realize I had done such a good job.

I've got to stop this type of stuff though if i'm going for a maniacal image...or maybe this kind of stuff is why they think i'm LAG?

Is this the same Surf who was doing all that folding in one of those polls? I know, totally different situation.

Anyway, I agree with fold pf, though I think it's ok to take a shot like this occasionally. But once villain donks the turn, I think you have to fold.
