A good example of value bettting your draw

They're all fish or LAPs.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is SB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 calls, 1 fold, CO calls, 1 fold, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (5 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, UTG folds, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, BB 3-bets, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero caps, BB calls, MP1 calls, CO calls.

A good flop for me, I flopped a gutshot straight draw. BB was too aggressive, so I expected him to bet so I could checkraise, getting 8:1 on a 10:1 draw this is a good checkraise for draw value. Once the BB 3-bets I was scared I might lose out a fish caller, but they both called two on the flop as well, so I cap for value and a free card, since I'm acting ahead of the BB.

Turn: (10.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, BB bets, MP1 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, BB calls, MP1 calls, CO calls.

turn checkraise is good, I'm still on a 10:1 draw and the pot is now a healthy size, easily giving me pot odds to bet my draw. This is where a lot of people just check/call their flush/oesd draws because they say they don't have odds. I think most people just don't understand much probability theory and accept what those older posters says as gospel, value raising your draws is crucial to crushing those lower limit games.

River: (18.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
Hero checks, BB checks, MP1 bets, CO folds, Hero raises, BB folds, MP1 folds.

My river bluff checkraise is on a scary board for any overpair, I give myself a 100% chance of folding the opponents in this hand.

Final Pot: 21.50 BB

Re: A good example of value bettting your draw

your flop play is [censored].

you're getting 3-1 immediately on the raise, and you're 5-1 to make your hand *by the river* (just like you're 1.9 to 1 to make a flush draw by the river). and one reason that the flush draw raises are so money is because you KNOW you'll be seeing the river. no value in this raise at all. and you still might not be able to call a turn bet. this pot is really small, just call closing the action profitably.

EDIT: ignore everything I said, it's obvious now that you're joking. I don't know why you posted this. Thanks.

EDIT again: I'd just like to point out that I edited it before anyone busted me on this. and I had the testicular fortitude to leave my post up.

Is this parody directed at any particular recent hand post? Must've missed it.

Also, for DMBFan:

Testicular fortitude? Sounds like something you might wanna consider a specialist for.
