To the OP the only way to "beat" online blackjack is through bonus whoring and even then you're not really beating it you just lose some of the casino's money back to them.

approximately a 1% disadvantage for the player IF they play perfectly.
Most players do NOT play perfect basic strategy however (they stand on 15 v. 10...or they don't split their 99 vs. 6...or they don't double-down with A7 v. 6) so that probably takes most players to a 1.5% disadvantage.


If your 'friend' is thiniking that he is beating the game because he is employing some sort of alternative strategy (perhaps varying his bet-size) then you have a stupid friend.

I think there are some situations where you can get +EV online blackjack games, outside bonuses. I know some Boss media skins use to have a one deck +EV blackjack not sure if they still do. Also I believe some sites have multi player blackjack where the deck is not shuffled after every hand, allowing some card counting. Just watch the game until a favourable deck turns up, then jump in and play a hand. (Alternately get a job making sure newly painted walls dry correctly.)

If my memory serves me correctly Playtech used to have a version of Blackjack (Switch I think) that when combined with the player cash back was +EV.

I have not done much casino whoring recently so might be out of date.
