$55: 99, Back to Basics

Questioning some of my standard lines, just to stay sharp. What's your standard play here at the $55s+. (Blinds do not go up again before they hit you.)

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (7 handed) converter

BB (t2015)
UTG (t1255)
MP1 (t1270)
MP2 (t2255)
CO (t1235)
Hero (t845)
SB (t1125)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls t30, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls t30, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>,

Eh, it varies for me. I'll often raise this to 125. Sometimes I limp. It depends.

I do think it's easier to play for a raise though. You can cbet most flops that way. They'll believe you have the high cards if overs fall.

If not, you have a nice pot to take down.

I've been raising it recently./

Edit: I can't vote, because I don't always like to follow that raise rule.

I like raising with position here, to narrow the field of overcards and to maybe get a free turn as well.

Standard limp for me. Raising just creates a bigger pot with a bunch of flops you hate. Keep the pot small and you can still afford to take a shot at a missed flop if it gets checked around.

Pretty much only if it's an overpair or you have a set.

Agree with junkmails ps but I did vote, just wouldn't raise as much as the poll suggested. More like 100-125.

I want to raise to reduce the field and to take control of the hand. This will be much easier to play giving the others at the table the suggestion that you have a big A or a big pair. With 2 limpers you aren't stealing.

FWIW, this is my standard line... and I get good results with it. Just wondering though, it is tempting to mix it up and raise this hand here. I agree limping and folding when you miss is better.
