Check-Raise made me passive w/AA - Advice on Line?

No true reads on villain here except he was occasionally aggressive and occasionally passive, so he had me confused *before* this hand. He was fairly loose pre-flop, but sample size was tiny.

The guy check-raises me on the Flop and I switched to "pot is too big + hand is too good to fold" mode. But this is REALLY early to be doing that. Did I go too far or maybe I shoulda raised up on the turn? If re-raised on turn should I have folded?

From the moment of the check-raise, I saw monsters under the bed like 2-pair, a set, str8s, etc.

I'd go ahead a 3-bet this flop. If he caps thats more of a reason to call down.

Three betting the flop leaves MP and Button ~8:1. They'll call with almost anything. Calling the flop and raising SB's turn bet leaves them with 6:1. That will get them to fold or make bad calls. I really hate letting them stay in for one bet on the turn.

Also, think about hands he could have. A4 is rare(r) as you have two As in your hand. And, he called your PFR, so could he have 64s or 64o? He's fairly loose... but that loose?

You can't go into 'scared' mode every time somebody check raises you and you have a good hand... doing so will cost you a significant amount of money in the long run.

Call the flop, raise the turn...dont let the others get cheap cards

I'd 3-bet the flop. With jacks or tens, I think popping the turn is a good play, but with aces, I think the equity is high enough in your favor.

I'd 3 bet this flop. You have an overpair and a gutshot wheel draw. If he caps then you can go into call down mode.

If you just call the flop raise I think you have to raise the turn.

Epilogue: Villain had QQ. MHIG. My guesses at his holdings (assumed low pocket pair) were off.

I like the advice about raising on the turn.

I had a similar hand later in my session where I held KK and was raised on the flop with a non-threatening board. I sucked it up and played more aggressively.

ditto. or call and raise the turn.

You should 3 bet the flop. He is very likely (and correctly) check raising an OESD for value. Some smarter loose players will do this. If he bets into you again on the turn (regardless of whether he caps), then I would just call down here. I say this b/c your read is minimal.
