10/20 PS 2 Tricky Overpair Situations

Hand 1:

Game is 3-handed. On my first hand I get dealt black Kings in the BB. Button (curzdog) opens for $100. He's loose-aggressive but overall extremely solid. SB folds and I make it $340. I've got $2k he has me well covered. Flop 953 all diamonds. I lead out for $400 and he calls. Turn is an offsuit 6. What's my play? I have 1260 and pot is 1490.

Hand 2:

Different table, 3-handed again. Again this is my first hand at the table and I get dealt JJ in the BB. Unknown button limps with $1800, SB completes and I make it $100. Button minreraises to $180, SB calls and I call. Flop is 943r, SB checks, I check, and button bets $120 into a pot of $540. What's the plan for the rest of the hand?

1) allin(raise bigger preflop i think (500 or so) to make post flop a lil easier.
2)I think i CR and be done once called. I also think leading flop is much better than CR.

For once I agree with thabadguy.

Why raise to 500 preflop? That's a huge raise. You make it almost impossible for curzdog to make a mistake.

Hopefully the strategy of folding everything except for AA to a re-raise to 500 here WOULD be a mistake.

Whenever reraising from out of position, make them pay to see the flop. Also it will narrow down hand range a little bit as he could have any 2 there. Also, you give him the opportunity to make a mistake (which he probably won't make, but could especially if you're reraises are balanced for reseteals). playing a hand like that OOP against a good player sucks on many flops.
