How come I cant pull the trigger on the river?

BB bets $30.00, Hero calls $30.00.

Final Pot: $237.00

When my opponent lead out on the river it kinda threw me off after I had raised his bet on the turn. I figured for sure he has got an ace. When the board paired on the river, I'm thinking maybe he has got A3. I was a little scared so I just called the river.

Results in white below:

1) I fold this preflop

2) Given your stack size I think you definitely need to push the river and hope for the overcall. If he hit a 4-outer to fill-up, well that's the way it goes.

I think playing K2s and then not pushing it all the way when you flop the nuts is definitely sub-optimal. Again, I think the key is your stack size. If you were much deeper I'd say just call because getting reraised here would really, really suck. But with a little over $100 left I say stick it in there.

As it turns out, it looks like your opponent wanted a cheap showdown and that's exactly what you gave him.

I think you misplayed this hand on every street.

Fold preflop, raise the flop, raise more on the turn (it looks like you minraised), and raise the river. As the previous poster said, if you are gonna play K2s, you really need to extract more from your opponents when you flop the nuts.

If it looks like a blocking bet, smells like a blocking bet and tastes like a blocking bet...

Normally I would never play this hand but it was a total limp game.

With the board pairing on the river what % of good players would still go ahead and make a big bet on the river?

Can you clarify your question? If you are talking about Villain, $30 is not a big bet into a pot of $177.

You're the victim of a so-called "stop bet". Designed to do exactly what it did. Get the player to the show down for something less then what you would have bet if they had checked.

A mini-raise is in order.

His river bet is clearly a blocking bet. If he filled up he would be into you heavier since you raised the turn. Raise it.

More important: raise more on the turn so that you can get all-in easier on the river.

Because a bow ainīt got no trigger, \"Rambo\"?

Sorry, couldnīt resist.

I know what you mean, but betting that little more often than not means "I want a cheap showdown". Raise to 2.5 times his bet sounds about right here.
