folds?

easier spots lie ahead than bottom pair no kicker gutshot/backdoor flush

What do you make of villain leading the flop?

Choose your spots better.

You can't make anything of it. Fold and move on.

He hit it hard and is hoping you did too.

Re: PS 500K hand

His range could be kind of wide here but a lot of it is beating you and it's not worth putting your whole stack at risk with such a weak hand. Hard to do anything but fold here.

I prefer limping behind preflop most times so the hand is easier to play. Had you done this, you most likely could've called the smaller flop bet in an effort to either slow him down or turn a set/two pair. The latter could be dangerous on that board, however. Sure, this allows the blind/s to play, but 89s plays well multiway and villain may be easier to read as he's more likely to play conservatively in a small pot played 3 or 4 handed, as opposed to heads up in a pot where he can apply a nice amount of pressure by putting your stack in jeopardy.

What do you think his range is?

After some thought I decided he most likely had AT and I pushed.

OK fair enough you picked out the hand, but what suits were they

Makes a lot of sense, but what about JT/T9 any Q etc.

I too would limp preflop simply because you're now 150 more in the hole with a scarey board.
