Reraising a bigger pair on 3rd(no hand)
 

Hello, all, as some of you may know I am new to stud and in reading 7sfap I am not sure if I understand one concept fully. If I hold (9s,Kd)9d and a ten raises, if I am sure I can get it heads up this this a mandatory raise if my cards are all live as well as my suit, or must I have doubt about his holding. In other words If I know 100% he has a pair bigger than 9s but I have live oc plus flush card is a reraise automatic here if I can get it heads up or is this a losing play?

At 0.5/1 and 1/2, a reraise will not get it heads-up, so don't bother. I would call, and re-evaluate on fifth - assuming nothing too nasty on fourth.

The advice in 7CSFAP is for a game with a structure proprtional to 15/30 with $2 ante and $5 bring-in. If you have a tighter structure (e.g., Party 20/40 with $2 ante and $5 bring-in) I do not think that you should even play the hand if a player raised with a Q up and you were 100% he had two queens, though there are some exceptions. Your equity is about 40% and there is simply not enough dead money if no one else has entered the pot. However, if you have doubts about his hand you should certainly raise, and raising also has advantages on future hands when you actually have something like (KK)9 instead. Another benefit to raising is that you can probably get a free card later in the hand, and perhaps (doubtful) your opponent will throw away unimproved queens on the river. It also helps somewhat if one of the queens is dead.
