My First Necrophilia Post.

I'm a little bit mad at myself for not being the first to post about it. Because necrophilia is obviously the perfect subject for this forum. Pair The Board made the comment that people give reasons for their stances or actions that are often not their Real Reason. Agreed. But I think it is worse than that. I think they often have No Reason. All they have is a gut feeling. And unless asked, they never bother to check whether their gut feeling contradicts any of their OWN precepts. How better to show this than necrophilia questions? Here's one:

Assuming it is not illegal would it be wrong to sell your own dead body, getting money now, for the purpose of necrophilia? Let us also assume that it is a fact that the person or persons who have sex with the body do not get crazier than they already are by such actions, and that they are no more likely to harm others because they performed such acts. Also does the answer change based on how much money you get or what you would do with that money (eg save lives)?

actually; this is one of david's more spiritual posts; as those who are aware of themselves as immortal soul and view their human body as only a vehicle to have experience in the physical plane of existence; then; they would say it has absolutely no bearing whatsoever happens to that lump of clay as they look down....

it just does not matter..

it's that simple..

To perform such an act, you become an active principal in the sensual pleasure of the necrophiliac. The debasing of your temple will follow you in this life and the next. There is no free lunch-a karmic adjustment would be expected, the exact details of which will depend upon your particular soul quality.

This is not a condemnation. Your motivation is important as is your perception of what the body is and its purpose to you. Upon death, you will be aided in your understanding which will have much to do with the sacredness of life and death.

Not to split hairs, but clarify this. Is it known that you did this? That is, if you have an earthly desire to leave a good leagacy, would the fact that you don't want to be remembered for selling youself to a necropheliac come into play?

EDIT: Furthermore, is your surviving family aware of what's going on with your corpse?

You mean there's going to be a second!

David, it's like the old joke when the man propositions the woman and offers first ten bucks then a million for sex. You know the punchline.

Re: My First Necrophilia Post..

Why would an atheist care more than a spiritual person about what happens to his body after death? I know I don't care one bit what happens to mine and have specifically told my wife to spend as little money as possible to get rid of it. If she sold it to necrophiliacs I wouldn't care. Once I am dead what do I care about my body, I won't care about anything.

An atheist might even take certain things as more valuable than there own lives. For instance, if I am a strong believer in natural selection and I was offered the opportunity to have 100 children that grow to adulthood, but be terminated immediately after the conceptions (but the growth to adulthood is guaranteed), I might accept that.

This is substantially affected by whether or not people will know. If no one will know, I would agree for a fair market price and give the money to charity.

Can you explain further why this would affect the ultimate decision?

I think it's a safe assumption that they would not be pleased to know this, and I also think it's a safe assumption that you don't wish to cause them any more grief than they would already be experiencing. Am I wrong?

but do you mean it would be a consideration if the family knew before-hand, family finds out later, or do both make no difference?
