Since the forum has grown big time since, I thought it would be a good idea to hear from all the present regulars to the forum.

Some of my favorite movies, The Godfather 1-2, Dances with Wolves, Dead Poets Society, Pulp Fiction, Amadeus, The Hours.

Internet, a 2nd in the PP Quarter Million. Live Casino, cashed 4 times in the 2005 WSOP. (Played 13 events). The best, a 3rd in WSOP#11 $2K Pot Limit Holdem.
Been playing since 1997, internet since 2003.

I'll give it a go:

I'm 30 (april 11th).

I live in San Francsico with my girlfriend and basset hound.

I play a lot of poker and will be full time in 10 more days. Besides that, I've been working on 2 screenplays.

I graduated with a BA in English from UC Berkeley in 2000.

My favorite movies are Bottlerocket, Goodfellas, Magnolia, Training Day, Welcome to the Dollhouse and some other stuff.

I've been playing poker for about 5 years - the past 2 years fairly seriously. I've had a lot of 4 digit online mtt scores, but nothing higher yet.

My best poker accomplishment is my win in a PS 109+rebuy tourney. I have been playing on pokerstars for a year and a half.
I currently play most games on pokerstars including PLO and Stud H/L as well as 3/6 5/10 NLHE, 100-500 sngs, and 200$ HU. I love learning the game, and am looking for a good 2+2er to learn with by watching eachother etc.

I'm a full-time student (semester starting soon) and I play poker as a hobby, but I love the game. I'm in Computer Science, it'll be my first semester, I switched around in programs that I didn't really like. Major waste of time, but hopefully I'll enjoy Comp. science.

Here are some of my fave movies: The Usual Suspects, Godfather I and II, Terminator 2 (best action movie, period), Pulp Fiction, etc. (you know, the usual list of great movies)

Started playing online about a year ago. I got interested in poker watching WPT with friends, so I deposited 100$ in PP and went from there. In a few months I was playing 3/6 and NL100, until I went on tilt and nearly destroyed my roll. Took a break for a few weeks and restarted back from square one, now I'm playing NL100/200 and going strong. At least I'm more disciplined now, too bad I had to learn the hard way. I'm currently trying to improve my tournament game and have started playing the 10+1, 20+2 and 30+3 tourneys at Party. Impressive poker accomplishments soon to come, hopefully. My best poker accomplishment is moneying in the 2005 WSOP Main event (321st place) in my first major tournament. I've been playing seriously for ~1.5 years online, with numerous 4 digit cashes on Stars and Partypoker MTTs.

I was born May 23, 1985 (20 years old). I live in Davis, CA, where I'm a third year Economics student. Some of my favorite movies are Big Lebowski, Old School, Dumb and Dumber. I've been playing poker since my senior year in highschool, so a little under 3 years, and online for about a year and a half. I guess my best poker accomplishment is making enough to not have to work for the past two years, and still be able to maintain a higher standard of living than the average college kid. My best accomplishment in tournaments is having about 10 4-figure cashes. My best ring game accomplishment is having a 2.5+ BB/100 in limits between 2/4-5/10 6 max over 70,000 hands.

p-dog LOVES poker. It's funny, old people think he's old (he's only 2) and potheads think he smokes too much weed (he only smokes a little (after a rough day of sleeping)). Really he just looks the way he does because he loves providing me foot-warming services while i play poker all night.

its funny you say he needs some sleep. in all seriousness, he sleeps no less than 18 hours a day. he's like his dad, trying to make it in this world making as few movements as possible.

Married, 2 grown kids out of the house (22 & 19) - aspiring poker players of course
IT Consultant by day - poker player whenever I'm not doing "honey dos" or working
Favorite Movies- Rounders (of course), Star Wars, Good Will Hunting, any Action/Drama flicks, and Team America - World Police to name a few.

I started playing poker in July '03 with $300, my playing BR now is about $13K just 24 months later (backers anyone?).

Since May I've taken down-
A $130 B&M MTT with 33 players - $3000
A $20+2 on PS with 629 players - $2700
A $40+4 on UB with 232 players - $2400

I've finished in the top 11 in 7 of 31 MTTs this week (1-UB, 7-PP, 8-UB, 9-FT, 9-FT, 10-FT, 11-UB) which is an incredible run for me - almost making 7 final tables in one week.

I hope to start qualifying and playing in some of the larger events. The $1500 NL WSOP Event #2 is my high-water-mark buy-in so far. I finished ~750th (of 2305) when my 77 short stack push got called and beat by A2s.

Playing for 3 years, serious for 1-1.5. A few 3K+ cashes on UB and empire, running 2 6max 50$ NL tables up to 400$ and 650$ drunkenly blowing off steam (very drunk) when UB shut down a WSOp satelite when I was chip leader.

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing? I didn't play a lot of online tournaments until recently. A few days ago I took down a $22 tournament on 'Stars for $5,200 and the next night made the FT of a WCOOP Double Shootout. Live I've made 3 Final Tables at Fort McDowell's daily tournaments. Ring play (where I mostly play) I have turned a free $20 deposit from Pacific Poker into a bankroll of just over $6000 in 1.5 years. I've also been playing since 2002, so 3 years.

Poker - I've been playing for fun for several years but it's really been the last year and a half that I've really tried to improve my game and make it a profitable experience. Best accomplishments: 1st in $500 tourney at WSOP, numerous final tables in online $109 and $162 tournies including several 5 figure cashes and numerous 4 figure cashes, winning trip through Party to St. Marteen IPF Open with final table in a preliminary event.

- I live in Ottawa, Ontario.
- Been married 1 year on August 21. My wife, who's 33, insisted I be at least 30 before we could get married. ;-)
- I work as a statistical analyst for the Canadian government in the department of health.
- Favourite movie depends on my mood. I usually say Raiders of the Lost Ark, although Rounders, The Princess Bride and Quick Change also rank highly.
- I've been playing poker for 5 years. I've hit a couple of MTTs (one live, one at PokerStars) for $1500-$2000 each, but nothing major.

Just a realtive newb to MTTs....

I live in Ohio, with my wife (we got married Sept. 18, 2004) and 2 dogs, Jack &amp; Whippet. Those are our only kids as of now.
Many IRCers already know this, but I am a funeral director/embalmer, and own 3 funeral homes(1 in my hometown and 2 in surrounding communities)
Favorite movies would include: Braveheart, Million Dollar Baby, Star Wars (ep IV-VI), and Godfather I &amp; II.
I really haven't ever had a great poker accomplishment compared to the rest of the forum, but personally, 2 stand out to me:

1 - Finishing 5th out of 410 in some Paradise freeroll that I somehow qualified for that had the winner getting a seat to their Million Dollar MTT, and an entry to WSOP(this weas late last year).... for 5th, I got a whopping $65.

2 - A few months ago, out in Vegas, my wife and I went to Mattista's to eat, then did $200 worth of damage at Red Square... it was after this that I decided that it would be a great idea for me to play some NL HE at the Mirage.... I bought in for $200 at a 1/2 table around midnight and at 7:00 am as I staggered out, I have a little over $800....

Like I said.. nothing major, but fun for me.

Go to Chico State, studying Journalism. I think it'd be great to be able to be a poker player/writer when I graduate.

My best poker accomplishment is 1) 5th in a Party Friday Special and 2) playing the main event. I think it was cool to be in the main event after playing for less than a year (a year ago I was just getting online, the highest i had played was $10 house games. and i sucked.)

Oh, and I guess busting Erin Ness in the main event is an accomplishment as well.

I learned how to play hold'em in the dorms 2 summers ago, began playing online in January 2005
