three-handed question

How often do you guys just go on complete steals when it's three-handed? If I get three rounds of 93o type junk, and the blinds are 200-400, even if I've built up a good stack, that's gonna hurt. I find the idea of stealing when the blinds are this big sort of worrisome too, since one failed steal is pretty costly...but obviously sitting around and waiting for even moderate hands isn't always an option.

Not suprisingly, it depends

It depends on the people, obviously, and how the game has gone so far. Oftentimes, i've only showed kick-ass hands at showdown, so the other players will think i'm tight and must have a good hand to be raising. Also, it clearly depends on the size of the various stacks. If someone is so short-stacked that they are likely to go All-in against me, i don't steal. If someone is fairly short-stacked, but likely to fold so that one of the other opps will eliminate themselves first, then i'm more likely to steal.

Like most things in poker, it's highly situation dependant.
