Yes, I run into quite a few bad players, but this sort of stuck out to me. Villain was 85/25/1.7 btw.

good river check cuz it seemed to me that villian had a Ace with a weak kicker or QJish

He was looking to hit runner hearts when he called the flop. Then that missed, but he picked up an inside straight draw. He was intending to check/fold a river bet, certainly not check/raise.
