does anyone have any information or links about the history of online poker, i know planet was first but i'm a little sketchy as to info before or after that.

I remember playing paradise about 2001, when it was supposedly the biggest room (not sure, but I think it was) and there would be between 500-1000 players there depending on the time of day.

well, delta opened in 1998 to the general public, so planet must have been 97 or earlier in 1998.

My first day of real money online play was on 17th October 2000 at Poker.com, although I had played play money at Yahoo Games for quite a while before that. I deposited my first and only my-money-deposit of $60 that day.

Some of the guys I played with there, (tipsyjoker, for instance), have become serious money-earners since then.

But at least I could still cash out my $60.

MSSunshine could probably help you a lot, with the sort of info he keeps.

In one of my first posts on here I mention that I hadn't played at paradise yet and that would have been in late '98.

Edit - can't find that post but I've had my Paradise account since 2000 so it's quite a bit earlier than that.
