What would you be thinking throughout the play of this hand?

All seems pretty standard... I'm very happy to get my money in on the turn with the second nuts, what is there to think about here?

yah i feel ya.

one of the challenges i think i am having as a beginning NL player is not knowing if plays like this are standard. I am making the transition from L to NL, and have been taking a beatin at times. I start thinkning I am making a mistake--so I post.

It is good to hear I played something correctly and just lost. I was considering maybe playing it a bit slower in fear of the nuts.

thanx

Two Overs + a big FD = a pretty good flop. Your flop bet is correct and you don't mind taking the pot down right there.

Your turn bet of half the pot screams either "I just hit my flush, please pay me off" or "I don't want to show weakness but I'm unsure about my hand"... the image it'll convey to the opponent depends on if they're smart enough to see it at all, and how you've played previously.

And of course you're not folding, you're getting your money in the middle with that hand.

When the turn hits I think about how to get his stack in the middle, sometimes I'll pot it because he might put me on a bullying move, but I worry about losing him... but I hate making a smaller bet because I feel its a tell.

All in all, nice hand.

Standard. I have no problem bet/3-betting this flop.
