Stars deep stack MTT - $30 vs $100

I play no-limit ring, but I feel like throwing some dead money into these. How is the skill difference between the $30 and $100 tourneys? Is the $100 comparable to the big sunday tourneys, or the normal $100 mtts on stars or party. Thanks.

The "big" ps players don't really play the 30, but some will play the 100.

There will be a noticable skill difference, especially later on.

What stakes is your usual ring game?

If you are a winning player at NL ring, you should be able to do well in tourneys as long as you know when to adjust your strategy (for stack size implications, bubbles, increasing aggression due to escalating blinds, etc.)

A lot of NLHE tourney players are basically poor at NLHE and would get crushed at regular ring games, even at the $100 buy in level.

That being said, after 2 hours in a tourney you can assume most of the donkeys are gone.

Also, a lot of donks play the big sundays. The nightly 100s don't get the same players. I used to really enjoy nightly 100s on party. 70-250 fields and players that think in reasonable, and therefore somewhat predictable ways. Doesn't mean it is easier, just more enjoyable to play.

.5/1 - 1/2, and I play higher when I'm 2-tabling. Thanks for the comments guys. I played the $30 last night, there were some a lot of donkeys in the first 2 hours. I plan to play the $100 next week. Seems like a better payoff for the extreme time commitment.
