Final Table Paradise 200 on 12/18/05

my stack is approx 110k after folding for about the first 10 hands or so. i am in 7th. blinds are 6k/12k with a 500 ante, so it costs 22k or so per orbit to post. i have not played a hand yet at the final table, and have been relatively tight all tourny.

i pick up KQo, third to act preflop.

what to do? i am mostly a cash game player, and don't get a chance to play many tournies, or read this section of 2+2. i hope i have included all relavent info.

If this is 10 handed, this is a fold. When you are short stacked like this, just remember one thing: position is better than cards.

JJ, do you mean he should wait until hes in late position then try to steal? hes gonna have to pay the blinds just to get into late position to recover the blinds he just lost.

if hes been playing tight and open pushes, depending on the stacks behind him, they are gonna need a pretty big hand to call usually. the problem though is that AJ probably folds but AQ,AK which have him crushed will call.

I think you give way too much credit to "image". I do think position is much better than cards in every case. I think AJ would be a relative easy call to this push.

Patience is key, and position is better than cards. That is all you have to know.

If they have big enough stacks their calling ranges can and really should be a lot wider than ak/aq/premium pairs here.

youre being vauge here, and i dont know if that is intentional or not. if you push in CO i think a blind is a lot more likely to call you with AT,AJ than if you push UTG+2.

With all due respect, there is no arguement that position is more important than cards. This is especially true at the final table.

Incidentally, I would rather push 89s in hero's position than KQos.

if there is no argument then this should be tremendously easy for any of you to explain.
