Best SNL \"Character\" Nomination Thread

Post your favorite SNL "character" for eventual poll. For example, Billy Crystal's "Fernando", Dana Carvey's "Church Lady", Eddie Murphy's "Mr. Robinson", etc. Please include actor/character name.

Chris Walken's "The Continental."

Belushi's Samurai.

Nealon, Mr. Subliminal.

Aykroyd's Nixon.

Not as popular as some others, but Kattan's Antonio Banderas ("I am so the sexy.") always cracked me up as well.

Hammond's Connery.

Eddie Murphy - Mr. Robinson

If an impersonation counts as a character, I'd nominate Eddie Murphy as Stevie Wonder. I still sing "Ebony and Ivory" that he did with Joe Piscopo as Sinatra:

You are black
I am white
Life's an eskimo pie, let's take a bite
That was groovy thinkin', Lincoln
When you set them free.....

Also, I'd nominate Phil Hartman as Sinatra and Clinton.

Not necessarily. If there was a one-shot that was so great it blows away recurring characters, by all means list it.

For example, Walken's "Bruce Dickinson" in the "Blue Oyster Cult/Gene Frenkle" skit.

If that's the case, I nominate Alec Baldwin's soap opera doctor who cannot correctly pronounciate:

I think you'll have to do this elimination style. There's too many to simply vote on.

The dan ackroid guy that sold the bag o'glass, and invisible pedestrian, teddy chainsaw bear... to kids.

and a I think its safe to say that Ferrel's James Lipton was a gift from god.
