Trap Hand

Interesting one from a Stars MTT blinds 25 50. I have 2000 at the start of the hand. NLHE table quite passive. I have 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] bring it in for 100 from mid position 2 callers button and BB

flop 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check button bets 75. BB calls so do I

turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check button bets 300 bb calls (interesting) So do I

river 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I check button bets 100 bb calls.

What would you do and why ? Both BB & Button have you covered but not by much.

regards

Ross

Push.

If they fold, they will never know what you have and how you played it. If they call, it's nice for you and since the pot is at around 1500 if I calculated it right you pushing will make the pot 3000. Even if they fold you have made quite a nice amount of chips here. Lets hope they call.

I min raise the turn to 600 and then push the river. After that bet and a call I think it's the best way to build the pot and have a chance at getting all the chips in on the river.

Didn't run into the 7c did you?

Preflop, I really hate the minraise with small suited connectors and no limpers. What were your intentions with the minraise?

With small suited connectors, you want to play it cheaply, with callers, and with position. Since everybody folded to you, this is a very unpromising hand. I would just fold it.

My second choice would be to limp in and see what the flop brings.

My third choice would be to raise 3XBB and see if I can steal the blinds. Two favorable outcomes would be that you steal the blinds, or that only the BB calls and you steal it on the flop. Given your description of a passive table, this may be a good option for an aggressive player.

My last choice would be to minraise. The minraise reduces your number of callers, makes the pot bigger (which means that the odds may dictate that you play a hand that you would rather not), and increases the likelihood that you will be playing a big pot out of position.

On the flop and turn, you correctly slowplayed this. But I hate the checkraise on the river. I would lead out, with the hope that someone has the Ace of clubs and you can get all of his chips. If you checkraise, the Ace of clubs may possibly fold to your raise, figuring that such a show of strength meant that you had the straight flush. That would be a disastrous outcome, to not get all of the chips from the nut flush.

Wow, I missed the open miniraise.

In this case I'd push the river. You are probably ahead, and given your donkish image you will get called by weak str8 and flushes++.

Nobody's looking to pop this for a 300 min raise on the turn?

Limp or raise preflop.

Raise the turn. You have two opponents. People may have draws that they won't call on the river with.

Raise the river. I probably wouldn't push with tiny bet and call.

I am sorry you lost to a straight flush. Since you posted this, I assume that happened.

Is nobody worried about the 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ?

Perhaps I am too paranoid, but forgive me, today amrks the end of my first week of online play.
