Canterbury Expansion

They've removed 3 gaming tables from the back, and put in poker tables.

Yay.

some of those lameass table games not getting the business Poker could get, I suspect. They're licensed for 50 some tables, and I suppose they could go 50 poker tables if they really wanted to - I don't think the back room does THAT much business...esp. since they have to give back all money won outside the fee for playing the hands.

So does that mean the carnival games room will be non-smoking?

i was there last night. i was told that they removed 3 blackjack tables. the poker tables are non-smoking, but the -EV games are smoking. smoke is not allowed to travel into the poker area or it will be asked to leave.

Re: Canterbury Expansion

Maybe they could ask the smoke in th ebar to leave, since they can't afford to upgrade their ventilation system...

They need to spread out the poker tables a little bit and remove all table games from the back room. They should add some NL in the back room, and/or designate that area for tournaments.

They should move the table games they want to keep to another area (either upstairs or through the door by the snack bar. If they spread out the poker tables and keep 5-7 table games, they should stay below the 50 mark (or whatever the table max is).

It's been a while since i've been there, so I'm assuming things look like they did last year.

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing any NL games at Canterbury any time soon. Pretty sure there's a state law preventing any bet more than $60 ... hence, the $30-$60 game is as high as it gets there.

I think they're going to try for a WPT event ... hence, the addition.

They can't spread NL. Minnesota law (the state where nothing is allowed) prohibits bets over $60. So 30/60 limit is the biggest game possible in the state.

Satellite, right? Or are you saying an actual event with Mike and V V P?

Re: Canterbury Expansion

They'll never get a WPT event if they can't spread a side game bigger than 30-60. They need to get that law fixed.
