Re: The official \"this is the best song ever\" tread
Rock: Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana)
Pop: I'll 2nd your nomination of Billy Joel (that entire album is excellent). Rap: I'm Bad (LL Cool J) but I know very little rap. Musical: The Impossible Dream (Man of La Mancha) Country: Ghost Riders in the Sky (I like the Outlaws' version) Classic: You can't beat the chorale in Beethovan's 9th And I'll nominate the 9th Symphony as the greatest piece of music ever written. |

Re: The official \"this is the best song ever\" tread
OK, Falco was the only austrian who ever made real good music (although the version of "Ein Kompliment" which Christl Stürmer sang at Starmania might be one of the best interpretions of a song ever).
Anyway, donīt tell me youīve ever seen "The sound of music". I honestly thought that nobody ever in Austria saw this movie. BTW, nice to have a fellow austrian here. Best regards Martin Aigner |

Re: The official \"this is the best song ever\" tread
Here are my nominations. I added two additional categories. Blues and Metal. You really can't lump Metal and rock together, they are worlds apart IMO. Here you go:
Metal: The Four Horseman - Metallica Rock: Baby Please Don't Go (One of the most covered Rock songs ever AC/DC's version is the best IMO)- Big Joe Williams Pop: I don't listen to a lot of Pop but I like that Black Eyed Peas Song. Is it called 'Where Is The Love'? Rap: Rap Superstar - Cypress Hill Musical: Last Illusion - The Transsiberian Orchestra (From Beethoven's Last Night) Classical: Tocata Fugue in D minor - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Blues: Death Letter Blues - Son House Country: Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels Bubbagump |
Re: The official \"this is the best song ever\" tread
