Sacramento cardrooms?

I'm going to be in Sacramento this weekend and was wondering if anyone could give me tips on the best card room to go to. I'm pretty flexible as far as game selection. Ideal limits would be a 10-20 limit game or a low buy-in no limit.

Thanks in advance.

I played 8-16 at Lucky Derby in Citrus Heights (Northeast of Sacramento). That was the biggest game they had on a Friday night. I believe it runs regularly. They only had one table and the wait was long. Only alternative is a 4-8 game there. The 8-16 was a good very loose-aggressive game with only one other solid player in it. You might have better luck at the Capitol Casino, but I've never been there. I've driven by it in downtown Sac, and I believe they regularly spread a 10-20 game.

The Capitol Casino is pretty rough on the rake from what I understand. I don't frequent the card rooms in Sac, but I get the impression (from others in my home game) that the Lucky Derby is your best option.

If you're up for an hour drive, go check out Cache Creek (west of Woodland). They have some really soft games and the rake is reasonable.

The rake is awful at Capitol but they have about 12 tables ranging from 3-6 to 9-18. I prefer Lucky derby but they only have 4-5 tables going usually 4-8 but there are special 8-16 and 15-30 games. They have a NLHE tourney every Saturday @9am, but you need to get there by 7am to sign up as it fills up quick.

I know of a couple of other rooms in the area but I've never been.

The last time I played Capital, it was a 3-6 game, but had 1 & 3 blinds, and another 3 on the button. They then proceeded to take $4 for a rake. After winning a couple of $20 pots and doing the math, I figured they're the only ones winning here.

It is a nice cardroom, lots of guys who got off work and want to gamble it up, good food (well, for a cardroom).

The Lucky Derby is the place for tournaments on Saturday morning. Gotta get there early (around 7) for a 9 am tourney. $40 buy in, 1800 in chips, no-limit the whole way. Usually 75 or so get in (they have alternates after 60). A mix of some fairly tight players, some loose aggressive and a lot of loose passive.
