25NL: 2 Big Hands vs Maniacal Opponent

Villain is 78/24/2 over 768 hands. I've been watching him/her for a while and played with villain for quite a while also. The PFR Raise% was moving wayyy up during this session as villain raised to $2 preflop any position, any 2 cards. Villain always auto-bets flop if his preflop raise is just called, and may or may not slow down on the turn. Anyways, here are the two biggest pots we had together. Win or lose, both made me feel really uncertain...comments on them are appreciated.

Hand 1
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Button ($38.70)
SB ($24.23)
BB ($15)
UTG ($44.65)
MP ($121.34)
Hero ($34.71)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP raises to $2</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $5</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, MP calls $3.

Comments: Re-raising w/a mid pair was scary, but the pair beats his average range, which is anywhere between 72o - AA.

Flop: ($10.35) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP bets $5</font>, Hero calls $5.

Comments: Two overcards? Sigh...oh well, I call. He could have nothing. And he usually slows down on turn if he thinks he's beat.

Turn: ($20.35) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, MP calls $10.

Comments: He slowed down! I think I have the best hand...maybe. I throw out a feeler bet. He calls? Uh oh...

River: ($40.35) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
MP checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: $40.35

Biggg pot for a "middle pair".

Hand 2
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) converter

SB ($77.20)
BB ($56.10)
UTG ($29.15)
MP ($27.85)
CO ($71.41)
Hero ($48.55)

Preflop: Hero is Button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, CO calls $0.25, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $2</font>, Hero calls $1.

Comments: Villain had taken a string of losses to two other guys on the table (look at their stack sizes go up!) So he has stopped raising $2 preflop. He's just limping every hand now. He usually calls my $1 raises which I've been doing very often. But this time, he minraises me.

Flop: ($4.35) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">CO bets $3</font>, Hero calls $3.

Comments: This is an autobet from villain. I call...top pair top kicker generally beats his range which includes nothing to midpair.

Turn: ($10.35) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">CO bets $10</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $20</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $30</font>, Hero calls $23.55 (All-In), CO calls $13.55.

Comments: Not a card I wanted to see...and villain bets it! But...he continually bluffs "scare cards". So I put him to the test and raise him! He reraises. Oh crap. That's not something he usually does. Well...I have a flush out if my situation is -that- bad (which I don't think it is)...all in!

River: ($97.45) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font>

Final Pot: $97.45

Comments on both hands?

Re: 25NL: 2 Big Hands vs Maniacal Opponent

hand 1 if your going to reraise pf make it 7 or 8. post flop looks ok. hopefully he didnt show you TJ.

hand 2 you have to raise the flop given that villain has such a large hand range. so many draws out there.
