If that were the case, and overbets ALWAYS represented
strength, then every initial re-raise would result in 8-way folds. At some point
EVERYONE bets to represent a holding other than the true cards, and gets looked
up. Sometimes they get unlucky and lose. That's poker.

Isn't Prahlad Friedman's and any great no limit players game based on this concept. Overbet premium draws, made hands and occasional bluffs?

It seems to take too long for the dealt card to appear on the screen. Could that be made to show up faster?

I've been in the booth and can see it's a tough job. The cards need to be hand entered from nine little CRT screens onto another display. This past week I believe Eveliene (the Live @ Bike Producer who performs this thankless task) is on vacation so it may not be done as quickly as it normally is.

Are you sure it's not cause some old Italian can't read the cards?

A note about the guy Ed, who was playing in the 50/100 NL on wednesday. I was playing at the Bike last night and asked about him. According to another player in the game, he is a "bona-fide billionaire." Apparently he owns some kind of construction company. One day he lost $90,000 at the Bike and was heard to comment, "that nothing, My company's stock went down 0.40 today and my net worth went down by $40 million."
