Bush Admits Harming America

At the signing of $417 billion defense bill Bush said:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

Sure it was probably a slip of the tongue, but most such slips are grounded in reality.

It's no worse than the language, grammar, and structure of most 2+2 books I've read.

Perhaps W needs to preface his speeches with "A Note on the English."

2+2 publishing publish poker books. That is there "job"

Pres Bush is a professional politician. An important skill of the professional politician is oratory.

So we can conclude hes crap at that.

Wonder what else hes crap at?

I agree, it is pretty unreasonable to expect the leader of the free world to have at least a high school level grasp of the English language. Gansters in the hood speak the same level of English, why should we expect more from the Yale educated President?

My favorite part of the "Note" is that it begins with a grammar error.

Honestly, 2+2 isn't as bad as some of the Cardoza stuff I've seen. Mike Cappelleti (A Note on the Spelling: I apologize if I misspelled his name, but I'm not a professional speller.) has a great line somewhere in his Omaha 8 book.

"In one word: pull, don't push with this hand!"

One word, Mike, not six.

Many people like Bush's lack of speaking ability because it makes them feel that he is a "common man". I am definitely not one of these people.

Yes, Billy Bob down at the gas station has the same non-existent speaking ability, but I don't think I would really be comfortable with his fingers on the nuke-lur button, or have the ability to send troops into combat whenever old Jimmy John down at the bar feels like it.

They (our enimies) never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

The alleged statement can imply one of two different things ( i don't doubt that he said it, I'm just too lazy to check):

A)...and neither do we ever stop thinking of new ways to harm our own country and our own people.

B)...and neither do we ever stop thinking of new ways to harm our enimies.

If you're on the far left, well then it just HAS to be a Freudian slip, and that deep down (on an unconscious level) he must really have meant option 'A.' The rest of us read the statement, laugh at the thought of Bush meaning to imply option 'A,' then get on with our lives.
