4 am at the Bike

I was in a 20 HE game at the Bike last night and a new dealer had just sat down. After a couple hands, I noticed he was only dropping $3 instead of $4 each hand. I didn't say anything until the end of his down. He got a mortified look on his face, then left. About 10 minutes later, he came back and dropped $10 down the slot, informing us that he went and told the manager of his mistake, who told him to correct it by dropping $10, which came out of his own pocket.

Should I have told him right away when I noticed his mistake? Strangely, two dealers later, the same thing happened, and I told the dealer right away he wasn't dropping enough money.

You may get the players at the table made at you, but you could be saving the dealer's job.

Based on other posts in this forum, a dealer can lose his job for shorting the drop, although it clearly wasn't intentional in this case.

he's more likely to get in trouble after you bring it to everyones attention than if you just let it go
