Best Hold \'em advice/article for a total novice headed to Vegas?

I am going to Vegas with some college buddies this weekend and none of them have played Hold 'em other than in a home game. What advice would you give them and is there anything short and simple that they could read in a couple hours or less?

Finally, any suggestions on where to play in Vegas for the noobs?

Thanks in advance.

You can buy my "Live Casino Poker Pattern Mapper" for $500.00.

I say get Small Stakes Hold'Em and read as much as you can on the flight there.

They should definitely read Winning Low Limit HE by Lee Jones. It is a great introduction to poker. Sure its not perfect but it plugs leaks. It taught me the basics, and it has taught the two people I taught the basics and served us all well.

BTW this is not just my opinion, you can search for "clarkmeister rotation" on the books forum.

Thanks for the suggestions but let me clarify. SSH is way over their heads and they basically need a 2 hour crash course. I plan to explain starting hand requirements and will get them to study the Ed's starting hand requirements for a tight game. (I figure they will get into less trouble if they follow tight game requirements even if the games are loose). I'm not worried about them not maximizing their EV just hoping that they don't get clobbered. What I really need is a short article. Think cliff notes here

For my more serious friends I have recommended the Clarkmeister 5 step program to Hold 'em greatness (but substituted ITH for WLLH).

Tell them to read this.

If you think you should fold. Fold.
If you think you should call. Fold
If you are not sure if you should call. Fold
If you have "nice looking cards". Fold
If you are absolutely certain you shouldn't fold, but don't really know what to do. Fold.

In all other circumstances, raise.

lorinda-

You are a genius. That is perfect, especially the part about "nice looking cards."

Honestly, I think the best advice would be to tell them to only play Phil Helmuth's Top 10 Hands (And perhaps a few others). It's rediculously tight, but that's the way a novice should play until they gain enough experience to handle some of the trickier post flop decisions.

Ok, since none of you seem to want to do my work for me ...here is what I found from UB's website.

Anybody have anything better?

Any Ace under AT offsuit is total trash and shouldn't be played outside the blinds and not inside the blinds if it's raised.

They'll save many bets.
