How to Find a Home Game

About a month ago, I posted on here looking for a game in Bloomington, Indiana. I got a response. We posted back and forth and then he seemed to disappear. My question is, what's the best way to go about finding a game? Is there a good site on the 'net? Any help is appreciated.

Did he forget to use question marks.

Thats pretty annoying. Don't you hate that too.

Yes. Indeed. I think I stated that clearly.

At least I wasn't an [censored].

Do you use them?

edit: by the way... although your sophmoric porno avatar may be cool in your circle of friends, anyone who uses dial up (and doesn't know enough to turn them off) is going to have to load your 600x1000 pixel image just to view this TEXT message board. If you want to use that beautiful woman as your avatard, I'd recommend that you grow a skill or two and make it 80x80 before rehosting.

Both of these points are basic internet etiquette. People that don't follow etiquette are shunned from most communities. AOLholes screwed it up in the '90s and now broadband punks are finishing it off. Long live usenet, you binary bastards.

Have a nice day, you bandwidth wasting [censored].

edit II: I guess I'm an [censored] now. Eat [censored].

I don't think he likes me very much...not the first thread he's flamed me on...
I don't know what I ever did to him...but guys like him tempt me to get turned off of this site.

As for my Avatar...actually never even considered bandwith issues...

Doesn't really matter though. Sometime relatively soon its changing to a thundrecat avatar...just wanted to put up a pretty girl for a little bit.

I <3 U.

Don't forget, you decided to deride me . Passive-agressive is no way to live life, let alone play poker. Don't put that [censored] on me.

That post you linked was in no way in an attempt to do anything to you....

No need to be defensive....

As for passive-aggressivene haughtiness... you whipped that one out on me in an earlier thread you seem to be forgetting...

and here I tried to joke along with you to 'mend the fence' and you come back with what you did...

So sorry if I misunderstood your posts as anything but having issues with me.

Glad to hear I was wrong though.

What kind of BS, high-school argument is this? Bitching about question marks? Complaining about the size of his avitar? (by the way... don't most browsers cache images like this?)

Grow up.

Re: How to Find a Home Game

The lack of punctuation and normal sentence structure is one of the things I hate the most about message boards. I made one comment about that, someone made a smartass reply.

That person's avatar is a complete waste of bandwidth. I disagree with his "right" to use it. I can't change the site policies but I can bitch at people.

Good to see you, msb.

msb 12-20-2005 10:02 PM

Re: How to Find a Home Game

Hey, I'm with you on the punctuation, etc... but I don't think it is productive to point it out in a separate post in a thread on a valid topic. It's annoying and it makes you sound like a jerk.

Secondly, I never said he had a "right" or whatever... I just think it's a silly issue (and really a non-one because of the local caching.)

Casualy busting some balls is cool and welcome, but you just seem angry. I'm not really mad at you or anything, but I come here to look for a little enlightenment, and having to wade through so much of this petty arguing makes it that much more difficult.

Cheers.

Thanks for the two legitimate responses.

You know what I hate? When a completely innocent thread is hijacked by some nit. I'm definitely enlightened and smarter for it.

Re: How to Find a Home Game

Look man, I apologize if I came off as arrogant and rude. I am an arrogant bastard but am actively working to become a non-arrogant non-bastard.

Other people contributed towards your question but I forgot to interject my useful comment: Play bar games. Ask people where to find a home game. Sometimes you will get invited to one immediately afterwards so having some 'roll in your pocket is a good idea. Be careful of shady situations, I've never heard of it happening but if I wanted to rob some young poker players THIS is how I would do it.

I do not apologize for my stance. Questions should be ended with a question mark. Grammar like the subject of the OP makes the internet hard to read.

I'm dumb, please make it easy for me to read.

Did you seriously dreg up this old thread just to quote something? The least you could do is add some commentary if you're going to dig this one up.

This has been over and done with.

Technically its optional - I know/am aware...

Better yet...don't respond...
