i hate this spot

villain here is likely a 2+2er. he is 26/16/3.1 with a steal attempt of 30. he opens on the button. sb folds. i call in the bb with 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
flop: 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

i check, villain bets, i raise, villain calls.

turn K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

now what? please comment on all streets if needed.

good so far. easy bet on the turn. you can easily call a raise and if he has 2 cards lower than King he will probably fold. he will also be pretty hard pressed to calldown with ace high.

edit-the A high thing is huge. if you check he knows he can get to SD for one bet, whether he puts it in on the turn or river.

I'm leaning towards bet/call because you have soooo much equity with 15 outs, plus a couple more maybe for pairing your 6 or 7.

Plus, betting has fold equity.

The drawback to check/call is that you've pretty much given up on the pot save for when you hit your hand on the river. (i.e you give him the opportunity to bluff you, instead of you bluffing him).

typically id bet through the river. the king isnt so scary against his button range.

but this seems like a great spot to go nuts. your draw is huge, youre against an opponent who can fold, youre against someone youll play again in the future. id bet/3bet or checkraise.

with probably somewhere around 18 outs, you need very little fold equity to make this a +EV bet. so bet.

but does a tag fold a king to a turn 3bet when he has hidden outs and such?

Funny that you hate this spot, because i love it. He open raised on the button, so basically he has 2 cards. Your bet now has a lot more folding equity against Ace high, and you have a shitload of outs. Easy bet.

I don't consider this a tough situation at all. You should bet on the Turn. And if you are raised, you should call. You should bet because there is a chance he'll fold. That chance doesn't have to be that high for a bet to be right, even if there is a chance you'll get raised.

Turn : bet with the intention of calling a raise.

River:
1. if he just calls your bet, then bet out regardless of the River card.
2. if he raised you on the Turn, then check-raise if you hit a hand...and check-fold if you wind up with nothing. If you hit a 7 or 6....then possibly call depending on the guile of your opponent (would he have raised on the Turn with A5?)
