Damn Raymer took a hit late last night.. Atleast he got a decent table.

Looks like they are way ahead of schedule.. If they get down to 9 tonite, are they going to hold the final table on Thursday or Friday as schedule?

itsmesteve 07-13-2005 07:35 AM

Re: WSOP Day 5: \"Official\" News, Results, and Discussion

They're gonna play down to 27 today, I believe.

chicane 07-13-2005 07:36 AM

Re: WSOP Day 5: \"Official\" News, Results, and Discussion

Why the disparity in table size-from 7 to 10 players?

jdaddy 07-13-2005 07:36 AM

Re: WSOP Day 5: \"Official\" News, Results, and Discussion

Day 5 - Wednesday, July 13: Play starts at 12:00 noon. Play will continue until it is down to the final three tables, which is 27 players.

Day 6 - Thursday, July 14: This is the first day of action at Binion's Horseshoe downtown. Play will begin at 3:00 pm, and continue until the final ten players are at the same table. They will then continue playing at the TV table until the unfortunate TV bubble is burst, and only nine players are left.

Day 7 - Friday, July 15: The Final Table! By the time the final table starts at 2:00 pm, you should know everything about these nine people, from their first poker game to their most recent tournament victory. They play down to a single winner, who will become the 2005 World Series of Poker champion.

Raymer, Ivey, and Juanda all drew pretty good tables. Neverwin picked up a bad draw, on what I'm guessing with be ESPN's feature table.

Re: WSOP Day 5: \"Official\" News, Results, and Discussion

At this stage, is the seating supposed to be totally random?

TaoTe 07-13-2005 08:25 AM

Re: WSOP Day 5: \"Official\" News, Results, and Discussion

It shouldn't take all night to make it to 27 so the players should all be able to have some time off and come back well rested the next day.

I've got mixed feelings about this. I basically want to see him suffer, yet have to admit the television would be more interesting with him there.

All in all, I'd have to root for him either to just miss making the final table, or perhaps be the first person eliminated at the final table. Either way, I'd like his opponent to catch him on a bluff.

Honestly, I don't usually wish for anyone to fail, but Matusow completely lost me with his "Vindication!" bit at the Aruba WPT event.

pretty sure that the seating is always random.

also i read like 2 days ago that they had moved from 10handed to 9. apparently not.

yes seating is random, im just hoping to see the 2 collide at some point or another. it would make GREAT TV too.

just because hes the only guy with a bit of character thats left, you want him to fail?

after what hes gone through this year, id love him to win it, but then nobody seems to have any sense of humour in this forum

Huh?

You must be talking about the comedic value of watching him, because while Matusow is a character, he's never been accused of having a lot of character.

Huh?

I have a fine sense of humor, but that doesn't mean I have to root for jerks just because I might get a kick out of it. Let someone who doesn't view himself as a god win the money.

Yes, I know some people claim Matusow is really a nice guy who just gets too worked up sometimes, but I only care about how he acts at the poker table.

Could someone please tell me what Matusow has done to make people hate him?

What was this "vindication" thing? And what did he do/say to Greg Raymer?

14. Tom Sartori $ 1,208,000

Anyone have information on Tom Sartori, perhaps a picture or something? There is a singer/songwriter from my town with the same name. I noticed he was in 20th yesterday, however I figured there are probably plenty of "Tom Sartoris" in the world and just assumed it wasn't the local celebrity. However, on a top 25 radio station this morning they were talking about him, so now I'm intrigued to find out whether it's him or not. I didn't even know he played poker, anyone know anything about his ability? ESPN will love his story, he's a decent looking guy, plays music for a living, etc. Some guys have all the luck!

Thanks for any help.

Not that I disagree that Mike got lucky.

Now we\'ll see how Fossilman plays with a weaker stack

He drew a good table to make a recovery at methinks.
We'll see how Greg plays when he's not the big bully stack. Show them how it's done, Fossilman.

I also stand in the "hope he busts The Mouth" camp. Mike is great television for ESPN, but that childishness rubs me raw. I don't know if that's better or worse than "DAHHHHHHHHHH!" every damn hand...
