Big draw

Pretty standard right? Or do you just raise the flop to go for a free card?

Re: Big draw

I like raising the flop not only for a free card, but also because of your huge equity slightly over 50% to make a straight or a flush.
Turn - your equity drops and then i dont think raising is good causee its likely to knock out players, making it -EV.

Re: Big draw

You really do not have the equity to pump this on the turn. Your OESD isn't great, as you probably won't be that happy to see a J come. The spade flush draw is out there now, further tainting two of your outs. Your pair outs are not good, and you don't have the nut flush draw.

The flop would be a much better place to raise, as you have close to 50% equity against 1 player, and there is a chance that one or two of the others will come along anyways. Plus yes there is the added benefit of taking the free card.

Re: Big draw

turn is really bad. why are we raising? a free showdown does us nothing. raise the flop for value, foolio.

Re: Big draw

Since this thread it over time for a threadjack:

We are raising on the flop for these reasons, are these correct?:
1) pot equity w/ two cards to come, vs. any number of players
2) free card on turn if we miss
3) buying outs vs. something like KQ (just thought of now)
