AC Omaha hi-lo

A few questions --

1) Any other AC casinos besides the Taj and the Borgata deal Omaha Hi-Lo?

2) Any opinion on the relative skill of the players at each of the above places?

IMO, the games at the Taj seems pretty tame and easy (hardly any pre-flop raising at either 2/4 or 5/10 tables) but my results are very different... at 2/4 I do OK, but I've been slaughtered at 5/10. When I see cards turned over at showdown, though, I don't find much difference in apparent skill level or game understanding. At the Borgata, where 5/10 is now the lowest level available, I think I'm just above even, but I've noticed that the players tend to be more aggressive and a few turn over more decent hands.

3) Anybody know why the Borgata makes the 5/10 game magically change into a 10/20 game on the weekends when there's a waiting list (albeit a short one) for 5/10?

Re: AC Omaha hi-lo

a was at the trop about a month ago and a guy at the desk was telling me they had a 10-20 O8 game the night before. i dont know how often it goes, but i do seem to recall smaller O8 games going when i was there other times.
as far as borg goes, when i go there i always put my name on the 10-20 list if there is one, if theres no list, ill start one. i did not know they switched the 4-8 game to a permanent 5-10. i played a 5-10 O8 game a few weeks back, the players said it was originally a 4-8 and they had it changed. id say most of the omaha players at the 5-10 and 10-20 level are pretty bad in general.
as for your number 3, are you saying theres a 5-10 game going and they change it into a 10-20? if thats the case, its probably because all the players in the game agreed to raise the limit. if youre saying theres no live game and they change the list of interest from 5-10 to 10-20, ive never seen that happen. i have seen lists for both games with basically the same people on it though (and these lists are not necessarily adjacent to each other onthe board, so maybe that made you think they simply changed limits?)

Hey smooth,

This is what happened. A few weekends ago, I put my name on the list for 5/10 (and played 7 stud while waiting). I noticed that there were eight people on that list (myself included) and a smaller list for 10/20. After several hours, I heard a call for Omaha, went to check, was told it was 10/20 and noticed that the 5/10 list was three or four (different) people. Didn't notice what the 10/20 list had. If they're going to do that every weekend, it looks like I'm stuck -- Taj or bust.

i have seen lists get erased when the shifts change, possibly this happened to you. it makes me very angry when it happens as its hard enough to get an O8 game going without lists getting erased.

Anyone ever seen a wild Omaha game either at the Borg/Taj? I've found they generally attract a more specialized crowd and more rocks (showing down A2xx/A3xx suited stuff) than your typical holdem game.

this is not true at the borg.theres the occasional good player, but for the most part its a bunch of bad loose players.

I'm too new to the game (and don't have the bankroll) for 10/20. I arrived at the Borg at 11:30 AM yesterday, was the 1st to ask for O 8/B, and left at 8:30 PM with no game ever being called. (and lost nearly $200 at stud, which I've learned I do not understand well enough, to top it all off).
