This could lead to much better/shocking commercials, that are so outrageous that people will actually search for them.

I could name a lot of Nike commercials over the years that have always been worth a 2nd viewing.

Many companies have tried to copy the DVR, but I still think Tivo is the best out of all the lines out there.

What TiVo needs is gawdamn HD recording capability. Had to switch from TiVo to a Time Warner HD-DVR when we got an HDTV, and its interface is inferior in a LOT of small, annoying ways.

BTW, there are definitely some commercials I would seek out. This sounds cool.

Tivo does have an HD box, but it's only available for DirecTV. Stand alone HD boxes are supposed to be released some time next year.
