89o

I have a new db going on here, and just started at this table, so I don't know much of anyone here. Except I've seen the co show a lot of aggression in a few hands.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks.

Flop: (6 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 players)

After the flop play has been discussed, here's the rest of the hand:

, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (9 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, UTG+1 bets, CO calls, Hero calls, UTG calls.

River: (13 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, CO calls.

Final Pot: 17 BB

I find my river bet humorous.

Cleaning up some outs?

Re: 89o

The flop 3-bet is to clean up some outs correct?

Did you consider calling the flop raise so you could attempt a check-raise on the turn if you hit a pair?

River should just be check/don't overcall. I might consider calling a single bet but UTG+2 most likely hit the Queen.

An interesting thought for sure. I just thought it would be more important to try to clear out some donk calling hands like A9 or J8 or something like that.

Just a suggestion, 3-betting the flop is probably best though. Folding better 8's and 9's is nice and if they call it's for value.

Actually knowing these hands make this hand very funny.

1 limper had A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2nd had K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and the CO had T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

FLOP:

I'd rather check/call the flop because:

- A bet from the SB where we are could fold some hands, whereas a bet from MP or LP might keep more people in. I doubt if we are going to win UI, so there is no need to knock anyone out.

- If a bet comes from our immediate left and gets a lot of calls we can checkraise for value.

- If our bet gets raised, it could knock some people out, and we don't want that.

There are boards on which checking a FF or an OESD is a good idea. This isn't one of them.

It's not terrible by any means, but I'm less inclined to do this on a flush board. I'd rather check-call. If it was rainbow, I'd do it all the time.
