A8s in CO-What would you do, 2?

Stars $5/.50, About 4 hours in.

12th hand at table, sucked out my first one there to double up, but haven't played a hand since. Villian has defended his blind once and lost, stolen once, and doubled up two hands ago with QQ.

Comments on all streets appreciated.

i'd take the freebie. the only times when you want to bet are if you can fold out a better A high that check/called the flop or a 5x hand that might give up. those aren't too likely, so check and hit your straight.

I like the raise and the continuation bet. Don't see any other options. However when he calls on the flop he's got something and as you have zip you're worse.

It's a stroke of luck that the 7 appears a blank but actually helps you giving you outs. I check and surrender it on river unless you make the straight.

I would bet again. You have legitimate outs now, and i think the range he calls on the flop with is wide, (PP's, up to JJ, AJ-A7, KQ, KJ, JT.) some of which you may be ahead of. With a bare flop like that, he could just be putting you on nothing as well. Bet once more, if raised fold, if called, fold river if he bets. His line makes sense if hes flopped a set, but i dont rush to give people credit for that. Your not in too much danger if you bet again.

The danger in betting again is the pot is 50k and you have to make a significant bet to continue representing a hand.

Take the free card, hit your straight, take his stack or at least this very nice pot. If you miss, fold to a river bet and go on to the next hand.

Well played.
