First, where do you play? If you play on a site the converter doesn’t work for but want to post hands regularly, you should consider switching to a supported site. It’ll make things much easier and you will get more (and better) replies.

Second, what’s the ante in this game? Not that it matters in this hand, but it usually does.

Okay, about the hand:
I’d re-raise right away on 4th. If he has trip 8s, so be it. I’m not giving the other guy credit for trip jacks either.
5th street is a tough spot. He could be full, he could have quads, he could have just eights. Good only knows. I’d bet and fold to a raise.
Since he checked on 5th, obvious bet on 6th and 7th.

I am relatively new to Stud, so I have no idea what the "proper" play would be. However, I believe I would have played the hand a bit more aggressive, especially on 5th street to see where you were at and then maybe bail if you got too much action. PLEASE let me know if I am wrong on this, like I said, I am new, and I want to learn.

4th, unlikely you're against trip jacks unless this guy is the ultimate slowplayer. T8 may have trips, but more likely two pair or a 89TJ straight draw and is trying to buy a free card on fifth. The only reason I don't raise 4th is because you're not knocking anyone out and although I'm betting you're ahead now, three people drawing against you isn't good. See fifth and decide then what to do.

5th, you need to bet, give them a chance to fold now that they didn't hit anything good. But if it's raised I'd call it down. I'm sure others will say fold to a raise. But I've been in this situation before at these limits where they'll raise with a weak two pair (that you easily beat with aces up) just as likely as the straight/trips/flush they're fronting. The pot odds are good enough to see the showdown if it can be done cheap.

I would bet the full amount on fourth street. When T8 raises, he is saying one of two things:

1) I have two pair or better, most likely trips.

2) I am a moron.

Possibly both.

I don't know what your plan was on fifth street, but I would have been checking with the intention of folding myself. Unless this guy is a moron, you should be drawing to one out. When he checks fifth himself, it looks like he was on a straight draw or something (nice raise, buddy). Armed with this new information, you bet sixth and seventh. So I think you played it about right.
