On the agony of being a fan of both Matusow and Raymer.

No great insight here. I just feel guilty being a tremendous fan of Mike's antics (and it seems that, unlike some poker pros we could name, he doesn't take himself too seriously) while at the same time respecting our fellow 2+2'er Fossilman's skills and, well, *class*.

Anyone else feel my pain? It's like I feel guilty, or something, which is just dumb.

Raymer is classy and appears to be a geniunely nice guy. Matusow is not classy, but he's damn funny.

They are both great for poker and provide a great contrast in styles. I'm a fan of both as well.

I used to be a Matusow hater, but he cracks me up. First with the cardplayer antics. Then in person, he was really playing to the crowd. I used to see no difference between him and Hellmuth. The difference is quite clear.

Long Live King Matusow!

Both are great players, and both are entertaining to watch, Matusow for some incredible zingers and the ability to put people on tilt (isn't this considered a skill?) and Raymer for class and the good zinger himself, when prompted.

And they are both fantastic fantastic NLHE tourney players.

Matusow is an ass. I don't see how it's any better to belittle and insult people in a "funny" way than just calling them names. Is being annoying considered funny these days?

You a great disservice to the man by simply calling him "annoying". He's made it an art form . . . and while he does occasionally step over the line, for the most part it's obvious it's all in fun.

perfectly stated.
Mike is infinitely watchable.

Mike seems to really enjoy what he does too. I was in the stands when he was at the featured table, and during the breaks, he'd come chat with the spectators and answer questions. He wears his emotions on his sleeve and it gets him in trouble. But if you've ever talked to him, hes pretty hard not to like.

Last year Matusow was a dick. You could see the anger in his face when he talked to Greg.

This time he was a funny guy who occasionally said dickish things. His demeanor was totally different.
