AKo hand

Not really new to limit but I've always grasped NL better, so help all streets would be nice. Anyways, I thought it might be a good idea to bet the obvious inside straight on the turn given the pot size. I know this particular example doesn't say whats the right play (MP2's ridiculous A2) but is this a reasonable move without any real reads?

Just check fold the turn. This is a really horrible turn/river combo. If you didn't post what MP had, everyone would agree.

Some cases there is nothing wrong with just checking the flop after a pre-flop raise. Depends on the number and type of players at the table, the pot size, and your outs.

this is not a reasonable move. there are a million people dying to call your bet and dont care what the board is. id maybe bet the flop but definately not the turn or river

I don't like your turn/river play at all. In almost every case in this party game, someones going to call you down with a pair type hand with the pot getting pretty big.

I figured it wasnt a good play but was quite happy to see the pot shift my way after the river was called down.

Re: AKo hand

Without some kind of read against a field this size, I will generally check the flop if checked to, or raise if one of the blinds bets to clear up a few outs in a large pot. If I don't improve on the turn, I treat it like drawing hand, evaluate my outs/odds, and play it from there.

With the turn in your case, I really don't want to get involved, as you could be drawing dead if someone hit their gutshot.
