Vegas Golf

Going to vegas this weekend and would like to play a round of golf with my Girlfriend. What courses would you guys suggest? I won't be renting a car so a place with a shuttle or close by the strip would be great.

Without a car and golfing with your girlfriend, my first suggestion would be to play Callaway. It is a 9-hole, par 3 course just south of Mandalay Bay. It is in good shape, but does not offer much variety of distance. Most holes play about 130 yards but the cab ride would be cheap and if your girlfriend stinks at golf, it would be a good place.

If you want something more challenging, and close to the strip Las Vegas National is not to far away and is a "regulation" length course. Desert Pines would be another option. I play there on occasion and like the course. These two courses will charge you about $100 for 18 holes as a non-resident.

The courses out here really stick it to out of town golfers.

If you are not going to rent a car, you should check with your hotel and have them set you up. You should rent a car, OI always call up Randy over at Legacy(reasonable $ your paying) it's in Henderson about 20 minute drive, you could always take a cab. If price is not a concern, I have not heard a complaint about Royal Links(you'll need a cab ride to get there though).

The Desert Rose is decent value (for Vegas) at around $65-75. It is a county-owned course on the east side of Vegas. It isn't bad and most other courses will get you for $120 or more. They have a good twilight deal too. Remember to wear a collared shirt, though!

All greens tend to break towards the Stratosphere. It's true.

Depending on what you want to spend, you can play Bali Hi which is next to Mandalay Bay. Aside from that any other decent course will require a cab ride.

If you really want a treat and don't mind dropping a dime for the 2 of you, and are staying at a MGM property there is Shadow Creek. Great layout and you get door to door limo service included.
