In the 1.5 years that I have been doing this I go this route.

I bet all 90 on one hand. If I win, I do it again.

If I win I have $360, then I start to bet $10-$20 a hand on 5 hands at once.

Usually (11 out of 15 times) I bust nearly immediatley.

The other 4 I won between $900-$2200.

1-7 now. First time I won at the game. 5 bills risk free is sweet.

EV wise, your strategy is slightly better than flat betting $1.

WR = $2250. Say on average your busting out saves you $1000 on wagering. Then the difference between your aggressive strategy and flat betting small amounts is $1000 * 0.17% = $1.7 You did the bonus 15 times. That's $1.7 * 15 = $25.5

Notice that Pontoon's extremely low HA actually works AGAINST you.

I know your actual profit over flat betting EV is much higher than $25.5. But it's just variance. Just like the other poster, you won a lot more because you got lucky not because your strategy was that much superior than the mundane $1 a bet strategy.

Of course your hourly rate is much higher. But it also requires a much bigger bankroll.

Not full pay. Even though it's 9/6 for JoB, four of a kind only pays 20 instead of 25 and a straight flush only pays 40 instead of 50. Translates to about one full bet every 1000 hands. Still a good way to clear the bonus if you want to play it anyway. 10 hand, 5 coin $0.10 is 450 chances to hit a $400 royal!

... still dreaming of the dealt royal on a 10 hand VP machine.
