Baseball Statistics - what do the letters stand for

I'm in a fantasy points league with completely inane scoring. I'm intent on winning it by exploiting a loophole that allows unlimited transactions and having a starting pitcher pitching everyday. If I list out all the categories and what they are worth, maybe you guys can help me find the best way to exploit them.

Category Pts Stands for:
AB 1 At Bat
R 2 Run
3B 5 Triple
HR 2 Home Run
RBI -2 Run Batted In
SH 1 ?
SF 1 ?
SB 3 Stolen Base
CS -17 ? (Caught Stealing)?
BB 5 Walk
IBB -1 ??
HBP 10 Hit By Pitch
GIDP 1 ??
A 1 ? (assist)?
E 2 Error
W 5 Win
CG 25 Complete Game
SV 5 Save
H 1 Hit
R 1 Run
IBB -30 ??
HBP -30 Hit By Pitch
K 1 Strike Out
WP 10 ??
BLK 100 ? (Baulk)?
SB -15 Stolen Base
GIDP 10 ???
SVOP 5 ? (Save Opportunity)?
HLD 1 ??
TB -1 ?

Wow, this scoring is extremely retarded. What I suggest you do is just calculate points per games of players and exploit people who don't have those.

Don't worry, everytime someone makes a post in OOT about baseball, the Jack Signal goes up.

well, we all had the same thing, so its cool.

those are some really weird scoring categories. I don't think I would play in this league.

The more complicated the scoring, the easier it is to exploit.

Re: Baseball Statistics - what do the letters stand for

Thanks for the explanation. The league is just created so my friends and a I can hurl offensive insults at eachother, no one is really too serious about baseball, and most people only update their team 5 times a season. My plan is too crush those who are too lazy to care, it makes it easier to talk trash that way. One interesting quirk I noted is that while HR's are worth 2, RBI's are worth -2, therefore a HR can only hurt you. I think I need a lot of speedy lead of hitters who hit for average, like Ichiro, but he's not available. I think as far as pitchers go, ERA isn't really a factor, so i just need to find guys who are going up against other crappy pitchers, like Tampa Bay's number 3 guy whoever that is.
