HUGE laydown from UB $109 last night.. Final table with 6 left

I expect to get flamed for this (I already sort of have, but they are wrong) but I KNOW that he had AA or KK. He later claimed to have KK....but ok I don't need to lose all my #@%@^ money everytime one of these assholes min raises a huge pair. Of course he might be lying but based on playing with him for over an hour, everything suggested to me that he did have AA or KK.

In any case I ended up getting first place and I feel quite strongly that if I called this allin on the flop I would have come in 6th. Enjoy! And please when you respond, don't forget that I've been playing at this table with these guys for over an hour.

I usually hate being so strict and assuming people have AA-KK because they min raise, but this was a special case....I am very sure that he had a big pair.

bugstud told me about this hand last night. I came in 16th in this tourney (I busted KQ v A6 at your table). I had played with screwy for a while when he was a huge stack, and seen him reraise preflop exactly once. I don't know if I have that fold in me, but I certainly don't think given the player and the situation I can fault you for it.

Oh, what was your handle? Holy crap I hope you werent my nemesis. There was this one player who acted after me that was an absolute nightmare, but I got lucky and caught them in a blind battle and won a huge pot.

Yes I remember that, it was absurd that you had AK I remember, because you were supershort and could have basically anything1

I'm not faulting your play, but I wonder what the decision points were here.

-As soon as he raises pre-flop, are you playing for set value only?

-Does the texture of the flop change things? What if an ace flops?

-Would you have called a smaller flop bet?

-What is your line if he checks behind on the flop?

He did play it like someone who really did not want to see a turn card.

You played with him for an hour, so we can't really help you here.

Hard to say, I could feel the AA/KK jumping out at me from both his preflop and postflop bet. I called preflop for set value and for the hope that I might get some kind of tell to make me change my mind about the strength of his hand.

If he checks the flop it would depend how I felt about his check...how quickly he made it etc.
