Can someone explain the new-recent Nike basketball commercial to me?
 

I don't get it -- these commercials crack me up, even though I don't get them. They're airing during NBA games I guess. I'm not even sure how to describe them, outside of a retro thing going on.

I don't understand the point either, but they are hilarious, and get the brand name across. I think Nike has such credibility already that their ads don't have to make sense. If this was a Converse ad with Dwyane Wade, for example, I don't think it would be as good - not because of Wade vs. Lebron, but because Converse isn't very established as a basketball brand compared with Adidas, Nike, or Reebok.

Nike.com has a ton on this ad campaign btw. Worth checking out. "The Lebron's" they call it.
